The team at Liberty Fields is made up of four friends who were interested in growing trees, preserving biodiversity and alternative uses for land on an organic dairy farm.
In the Spring of 2010, we planted our first 250 trees with the aid of some extremely helpful friends and volunteers, as well as a lot of expert advice. We have since planted over 1,600 trees with heritage cider apples and rare local varieties for preservation.
In 2015, our Apple Aperitif was awarded one of the highly coveted Producers Bursary Awards by the BBC Good Food Show which judged Liberty Fields "one of the most deserving small independent producers in the country."
"It's got a brilliant yeasty and baked apple nose as well as some nice green apple skin notes. It's a deep, dark orange-brown color that looks lovely over ice in a tumbler."
In addition to the apples used in our products, Liberty Fields contains the Dorset Mother Orchard, a collection of some of the rarest local cider apple varieties.
Recipe: Pour the Conker Spirit & Apple Aperitif over ice. Add tonic water to taste, and serve with a twist of cucumber. The taste of Summer!
